How does Furniture Hire work and what service should we expect?

Choose your products from our catalogue, website, showroom or representative. Make a provisional booking as early as possible (particularly in high season) by phone, fax or email hire@higgins.ie – as much notice as possible is appreciated; however 2 to 3 weeks is the norm. Confirm details including numbers, delivery address / post code / phone numbers and method of payment in the week preceding your event. Accept delivery of your order at least the day before your event. Have a smooth running function. Have the furniture folded / stacked and placed on the trollies ready for collection a day or two after your event.

Can we change our minds after we place an order?

Of course! Obviously the more notice the better but we do endeavour to accommodate last minute changes subject to availability of stock and transport.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. We can open our office and showroom outside these times by appointment. See How To Find Us

Can we see the Furniture before deciding?

Yes you are welcome to call to see our showroom during office hours or afterwards by appointment. We can also have a representative call to your home or workplace with samples at a time convenient to you.

Can Furniture be delivered and collected?

Yes we deliver all over Ireland using both our own custom built vehicles and carefully selected removal contractors. Charges apply and are quoted on an individual basis depending on load, location and difficulty of access to a mutually agreed ground floor position.


How long is the Hire Period?

General Hire: Normally for short term rentals 72 Hours / Weekend ie: Friday to Monday. For longer term hires and seasonal hires (Summer and Christmas) we are pleased to quote economical rates.

Office and Industrial Furniture Hire: 1 week. We offer very competitive contract hire rates for periods up to 36 months.

Exhibition Furniture Hire: Duration of event with the day previous and the day after to allow for set up and breakdown. Exhibition rental rates include Delivery and Collection to and from your Stand where we are appointed Furniture Rental Contractor.

When and how do we pay for the Hired Furniture?

Payment becomes due at commencement of hire period. We accept payment by Cash, Cheque, Credit Transfer, Banker’s Draft and the following Credit / Debit Cards: Laser, Visa, and MasterCard. – We don’t process payments or ask for sensitive details over the Internet.

What about a Deposit and Insurance?

Refundable deposits are required on all hires paid for by cash or cheque. We recommend that you carry insurance on all hired products to the value of twenty times the hire rate.

What happens if we break or lose something?

We charge a repair or replacement cost on all items damaged or not returned.
